Every year Citadel is raising awareness for different charities. 

In 2015, we have held events at our offices, posted informational posters and attended walks all to suppport these wonderful causes! 

 

AUTISM SPEAKS 

  

Citadel Environmental is celebrating Autism Awareness Month! Every year we show our support by donating and joining the Walk Now for Autism Speaks.

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and autism are both general terms for a group of complex disorders of brain development. These disorders are characterized, in varying degrees, by difficulties in social interaction, verbal and nonverbal communication and repetitive behaviors. Autism statistics from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) identify around 1 in 68 American children as on the autism spectrum – a ten-fold increase in prevalence in 40 years. Careful research shows that this increase is only partly explained by improved diagnosis and awareness.

National Eating Disorders Association

 

                       

 

The Citadel offices will be participating in National Eating Disorders Awareness Week February 23- March 1, 2015.  

The goal of NEDA Week is to put the spotlight on the seriousness of eating disorders and to improve public understanding of their causes, triggers and treatments. By increasing awareness and access to resources, we can encourage early detection and intervention, which can improve the likelihood of full recovery for millions. This year the National Eating Disorders Association is focusing on the importance of early intervention and recognizing the diverse experiences of people personally affected by disordered eating. Too often, signs and symptoms are overlooked as insignificant behaviors when in fact many of these are early warning signs of eating disorders.
